1880's Domestic Farm Living History Day
To be held on June 24, 2023 11- 6
Visit our 1880s Domestic Farm Living History Day when our Volunteers
all work on domestic farming chores
on the property. Learn about the old
fashioned tools from the 19th century & how to sharpen them; gardening techniques, how to mow grass, do the laundry & ironing, bring the kiddos to dip candles over the fire, &
get your image painted by a local artist. Walk thru the house and learn about cleaning methods for this era, herbs that can be grown for medicinal purposes, & sewing chores that need to be done. Visit our special guests, the Marshallville Historical Society with their antique farm equipment, and stop in the Lehman's tent for some homemade ice cream. This family activity promises something for everyone. Event will be held rain or shine. Donation of $10 per person. Tickets not necessary, your donation will be accepted when
you park. Cash, Check or Card!
All Donations benefit the Roof Preservation Project at the Zimmerman Bury Octagon House. |
